Grid Tied System

The solar grid tied system install where the utility grid power available. The system mainly include the solar panels and grid tied inverter. Any excess power not used feed back to the grid and the meter turn backward. This is the net metering system. 

It makes more sense to have a grid tied system if you are in the city which the grid power is reliable. The grid act as a battery storage for the solar power. You can take the power back when you need it. And can buy more power from hydro when it needed. Any excess solar power not used can be credit for later use, mostly one year. In case the system generate more solar power in the summer, the credit can use in the winter months.

This is the most cost effective way to use the solar power which to eliminate the battery. Batteries are expensive and need to replace at a period of time.
